Supporting parents of  Narcotics And Alcoholic Journeys  

As one who has found myself many days speaking with people on this powerful journey, and being a witness  to so much pain in the eye and souls of other during my outreach i have found that there is a population that is going unseen and unsupported somewhat like the parents of children with special needs and abilities, so tell me is it written when our children turn 18 that a switch should cut off, the battles that parents endure trying to assist their children is horrendous. So this is a perfect time to address the elephant in the room many agency will not be comfortable with you knowing your rights as a parent, and will downright show resistance towards you if you put in place all the legal documents that are out there to help you protect you adult child. I have witnessed this not just in the school age child with the battle of the iep vs 504 but also the many agencies and programs that are there to assist in the process simple try to take over and squeeze you out, well this is why this little safe area has been added to this Outreach. As usual we will have workshops and yes it summer so bonfires and meet up groups. Who is this group for a parent that has an adult child in the Recovery, detox, Relapse Sobriety journey, with or without mental challenges and or Special abilities, these groups are for the parents and family that love care and support their successful Outcome. No children are allowed in these groups because of the sensitive subject matter, and this is a group for you to feel safe open up get support to keep being a Supportive love one, We will have different topics but we will discuss tough love, when to hold on and when to let go, we will discuss how we change as our child changes and our experiences getting help. As these meeting progress i will seek out speakers that can address many of our concerns and we ourselves will be proactive in getting the community involved with what we are doing coming together networking getting support that we need as parents and caregivers, if you have and questions about the meetings and times fill out the contact page giving all the information ask of you. All meetings will be in the evening in the cool of the day to keep the groups intimate and to allow everyone a chance to speak the meetings will have between 5-7 people and once a month we will have one big meeting so everyone can meet each other, lets build a family, and lets look out for each others mental health, so much can be done in number
